Acceptable Identification


To protect all parties and comply with Kansas law, all signers must present valid, acceptable identification before a notarization can be performed.

Identification Requirements


Identification should:

Be issued by a government agency.


Include a photograph of the signer.


Contain a signature or other identifying information.


Reasonably identify the individual appearing before the notary.


Please Note


The notary must be able to reasonably identify the signer before performing any notarial act.


If acceptable identification cannot be presented, or if the notary cannot verify the signer's identity, the notarization cannot be completed.


Important Reminder


For many documents, please do not sign your document before meeting with the notary unless you have been specifically instructed to do so.
